Meet Michelle Moyer 

Michelle Moyer is passionate about teaching and inspiring young musicians. As the founder and director of The Music In Motion in Elkhorn, Nebraska, she brings decades of teaching and professional performance experience to her work with students of all ages.

Michelle’s performance career has taken her around the world—she has performed as a featured rock singer at Tokyo Disneyland, on Norwegian Cruise Lines, and in Broadway productions including A Chorus Line, 42nd Street, and Jesus Christ Superstar. She is a proud member of Actor’s Equity and currently performs with Résonance, a professional vocal ensemble that collaborates regularly with the Omaha Symphony. Michelle weaves this rich performance background into every lesson, creating an engaging and dynamic learning environment for her students.

Michelle is a certified Music Together® Level 1 educator with over 20 years of early childhood teaching experience. She has a strong reputation for creating a safe, nurturing, and musically vibrant environment where young children can explore music through movement, rhythm instruments, and joyful family-centered activities.

In addition to early childhood education, Michelle offers private voice and piano instruction to students ranging from elementary through high school. Her lessons focus on developing musicianship, performance skills, and self-expression, with individualized instruction tailored for beginners through advanced performers.

Michelle’s teaching philosophy centers on meeting each student where they are—fostering confidence, creativity, and musical growth. Her students regularly perform in studio recitals, local community events, and themed showcases that highlight their progress and passion for music.

After many enriching years teaching and performing in California, Michelle is grateful to be back in her home state of Nebraska, continuing her lifelong commitment to joyful music education and artistic excellence.
